Information on Ham, Tech, Web Stuff - HF Remote and SDR's

N8AD Skype API INFO and COMMANDS

N8AD has developed a SKYPE interface which allows a user who calls into Skype to listen and or control  whatever is happening on the HFremote link system.

The picture below is the actual SKYPE SERVER INTERFACE PROGRAM>
This is the software which issues and processes the command you enter in the message chat screen of your skype>

  • Currently only 2 sites have this capability - n8ad and ve1bwvdell
  • Only Skype users which are on the ve1bwwdell contact list can control .  All others can only listen
  • The Skype link is hooked up to an HF radio, Echolink, vhf /uhf and other VOIP ham actvities.
  • When a  user connects to the VE1BWVDELL Skype, the activity heard  by the user will depend on where the system activity is listening....
  • It could be hearing an Echolink qso or listening the ARRL newline or an HF or Vhf qso.
  • Please - LISTEN before you enter any commands - or you could interrupt the current qso session
  • Remember its a shared system.
